Cryptic sponge, cool. Is this something dwarf angels might consume?

    Something new and probably bad

From other threads I have read I'm assuming a pest anemone. I've read peppermint shrimp will eat aipstasia, will they do anything with this?

    Something new and probably bad

I found this small patch on a rock towards the front of the tank and looked around to find a few more patches and then a huge patch on the back of a rock. I'm assuming this is something bad considering how fast it seems to be spreading.

    ID help please.

Hey everyone, The last couple of weeks this has shown up on a live rock in my tank. It is steadily growing in size. The main body stays still, but the green hairs wave in the motion of the water flow of the tank. Any help would be appreciated as I can't seem to find anything quite like it.

    my fish keep dying

Well, from reading about the medication it says it can kill invertebrates. So I'm guessing that is what killed the shrimp. Did you put the activated carbon back in your filter to remove the medication before adding the new fish? Have you done any water changes after you lost the other fish and...

    Coming back to saltwater aquariums

Wow, I'm amazed at how fast Chaeto grows. I harvest out about 3 big handfuls a week from the refugium. Other than that I don't do anything else to it.

    refugium lighting?

I run my fuge lights for 16 hours and off for eight. I would say no less than 12, no more than 16. Algae has to have some darkness to complete their cycle. Can you explain the algae cycle? I've never of heard of this and I currently run my refugium lights 24/7, so I might have to change this.

I'm still liking the idea of using those acrylic felt pads. Still working great here, using it on top of a trickle filter. I change it out once a week.

It's been running a week now and worked great. A layer of the blue/white on top and felt underneath it. It has made my water crystal clear and taken all those fine particles out of the system. I will be changing it out today. Two thumbs up!!

    Coming back to saltwater aquariums

Did water parameters today. I know I probably don't need to test all this for FOWLR tank, but I got the tests so what the heck. Ammonia - 0 Nitrites - 0 Nitrates - 0 Phosphate - 0 PH - 8.0 Calcium - 520 KH - 8 or 143.2 ppm SG - 1.021 Temp - 72 degrees PH seems a little low and calcium seems a...

The first thing is to get that water tested, it will be the first thing to let you know how bad it really is.

Well, it has been one day, but I am impressed on how much stuff the felt pad has caught already. I have had a problem with fine particles of sand they seem to constantly float around my system. So I needed something better to catch it because it was passing right through the blue/white pads...
