Charon,The first few days to a week you should get a yellowish water substance in the collection cup.After a couple of weeks watch out brown nasties :P and smells too. I do not let mine fill up before I empty it,After about an inch or so of liquid (cpl days worth)I'll empty it by disconnecting...

Be careful when adding any "vitamin supplements" to your tank with the Prizm on.I had added some Marine Success VITA and within a half hour the Prizm was almost overflowing. good thing I was there!!! :) FishFace :eek:

I have the Prizm Skimmer on my Tank right now and WOW amazing what gunk it takes out of the water.First 2 days yellow more liquid type stuff but now some nasty looking tar colored stuff. :D Never knew what was "in" the water till now.

DO they move? If so they may be Isopods-or something like that.What kind of fish are in your tank?I had "tiny" lil bugs for awile but my clownfish seemed to eat them :)

I have had the 404 model on my 54 gal.corner tank and have had no problems of any kind.Easy to clean,media isnt too expensive (online)and is really quiet.

1st time on the board. I have a 90 Gal with a trickle filter,a aquaclear 500 and an extra 802 powerhead running inside.Would the Prizm skimmer do the job of helping rid some of the wastes?The specs say "up to " 90 gallons. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. BTW I have a 4" picasso...
