    HAWAII here I come

If your driving around the Island, it's different here than on the mainland. You put your blinker on and someone will let you in, just wave thanks and return the favor. You may get cut off, and what seems like tailgating, but that's normal. If someone has there blinker on, let them in. As the...

    HAWAII here I come

Sharks cove is good too. I'm on Oahu. I wouldn't fly on a helo or parasail for safety reasons. The regulations on parasailing are minimal at best. The helos have a tendency to fall out of the sky, especially here lately. I've lived here almost two years, and there have been 5 crashes/hard...

    HAWAII here I come

I can provide a couple. Don't fly in a tour helicopter, don't go parasailing, don't leave anything in a rental car. Snorkel Hanama (sp) Bay. Go to Laua they're worth the money. Paradise Cove is good, I've heard Germaine's is good too. They have good sushi here too. Try some Ahi Poke. That's what...

Check out modern pet downtown. They have some zoo's but that's about it. There is a place in Kailua that I've seen Molokai Live rock for 9.00. Most coral species are restricted here.

I always tell my friends that are talking about getting engaged this: Diamonds to women are like kryptonite to superman. Put that ring on her finger and it messes her all up.

Purple's will live together if you can get them to pair up, otherwise they will fight. I've heard purple's will also fight regular firefish.

    Moving Tank to New House

I just moved my tank a month ago and can make a couple suggestions. 1. Fill all your tubs (I got mine from wal-m*** and returned them when I was done )with water to make sure they don't leak water. 2. For my fish I used a battery operated air pump, and put them in a covered dark container so...

    lemonpeel angel?

I've had one since memorial day that's still small 3". It only picked on my damsels when I put them in the tank a month after I got her, otherwise easy to care for, eats a ton. I feed my fish several different things, but I think my lemonpeel like brine the best, so I usually drop it in the tank...

Best deal you ever got at LFS?

My LFS had a 30% off sale on everything in the store except salt on Memorial Day. They had people lining up 2 hours before they opened for tanks.

    Getting wild fish

If SWF would ship out here I would buy from them. The fish are cheaper here because they are caught by local divers with permits and sold in local shops. I've seen small tellow tangs for $8. Buying equipment from any LFS here is a ripoff. I've never found less than a 30% markup on equipment here...

    Getting wild fish

There's pretty strict laws in Hawaii for collecting fish, and your not allowed to remove live rock or corals from the water. I do know a guy that is growing somes zoo's and mushrooms here, and have seen zoo's at a shop here on oahu.

    Damsels beware!

I call mine a strawberry basslet (that's what the LFS sold him as) but I think he's a purple pseudo too. Mine is fine with the yellowtail now, but still nips the yellowtail some during feeding.

    Damsels beware!

Today they were all fine. Every once in a while the lemonpeel will chase them during feeding, but for the most part they don't chase each other anymore.

    Damsels beware!

I moved the tank about two weeks ago, and All the fish have stayed on one side till I added the damsels, and they are kept on a corner on the far side, with the lemonpeel and basslet patrolling the tank.
