My friend just took her tank down to focus all her energy towards her horses so I got all her corals for free, still haven't gotten the yashi haze goby, pistol shrimp, finger leather, worm brain, green open brain, some more mushrooms and xenia
I just started getting some red slime algae and have no clue why. all my parameters seem fine and all the corals and fish are really happy, any suggestions would be very helpfull

I was thinking of getting a chile coral, my LFS has one right now that looks pretty good, I've heard they do better if you hang them upside down and was wondering if anybody has done this or knows why it would help.
Ok I got this coral yesterday, I've been looking at it for awhile now at the LFS, they had it labeled as a torch coral but I don't think it is. I know it's part of the Euphyllia family but would like a name
I have 55 gallons reef. I just got a bigger tank for my snowflake eel so I can get shrimps and crabs in there now. Any suggestions on how many and what types. Here is what I have right now.

I've heard a lot of things about frozen foods raising phosphate and nitrate levels and everyone says not to defrost them in water but my question is how do you defrost them?
Do bubble corals split? on the base of my bubble there is what appears to be another small bubble starting, it has 4 bubbles on it the whole thing is maybe 1cm. It never gets any light though because my other bubble always opens up and shades it. Would take a pic but it's to small to get a good one
