The water thats in the tank was tap and someone on here said that it was contaminated because my fish keep dying, I have a real bad algea problem, and theres nothing else wrong with my parameters! So I should start over!!
I am going to start my tank over with ro due to water contamination. I have to go to Walmart and buy some. what should i do with my lr in the mean time??? (30 pounds)
Not at all, I used it in my tank, spead up the whole process, 100% organic, no chemicals, ur best investment, and its usually only 5.99 a bottle (treats 50 gallons!)
 The lta is fine but here for the past few days since the last fish died the bta base is huge and is moving all over the place, its really stressed!!!! I think tomorrow I will put it in my friends tank temporarily.
You always will need a protien skimmer if you don't want a huge algea problem! I'm not sure on what kind though, it depends on how much money your planning on spending!
:happyfish Blue legs usually eat snails for their shells. I would go with the assort. just because i like a little variety (I get bored looking at a bunch of blue legs.) Zebra crabs are cool!!!
Well, I have a 29 gallon (the water came from another well established tank), a couple dozen crabs, 30 pounds of lr, , a 130 watt pc light (10,000k, actinic blue)and my parameters are as follows:
PH:8.4
Am:0
Nitrites:0
Nitrates:10-20
I have had a tank set up for about two months now and 4 fish have died. It seems that this red algea growing everywhere is killing them. I get rid of it and clean up the tank, let it cycle for while and add more fish. The next day they are dead! I don't understand it. Any advice???
