    Calling All Super Skimmer Owners

On mine I trimmed the 3.5" tubing in half. It is still about 5" below the water level, but that is the shallowest I could get. It is supposed to be at 3"-4". Mine is producing tons of micro bubbles & seems to be working great so far. Mine is the 220 btw.

    Got me a new Sump/Refugium

If it is over that level you use the 3.5" tube instead of the 8". It costed $300, but horrible experience with the guy I ordered it from.

    Got me a new Sump/Refugium

You mis-understood me. Originally it was going refugium -> skimmer -> return. Problem is a lot of the pods will get sucked up by the skimmer. I was able to make it go skimmer ->refugium -> return now. Yes the bio-balls are going to be removed slowly over a course of time.

Well nevermind because I was able to fit the simmer into the first area after messing with it some.

    Got me a new Sump/Refugium

Well yesterday my custom built sump came in finally. I had waited on this thing forever. Horrible dealing with the guy who made it & took forever. I kind of jumped into because he acted like he could get it to me fast, which he extremley failed to do so. Here's the deal, the water flows in over...

    Cycling new tank

Well really you want to have a tank cycled before you add fish. You could do this by adding uncured LR. If the rock is already cured then you could add a raw shrimp. You can also cycle tanks with fish like damsels. This is frowned upon these days, for one the fish have to stress a lot to go...

Ok now I see where you said you got some more snails & hermits. That is good.

lfs sais i was feeding to much?

True a couple of days won't hurt not much of a point to letting most fish do like that though. You are right sometimes the phosphates won't show up on tests because the algae is using so much so quickly. Do you have a cleaner crew? A nice big cleaner crew does wonders on algae. They will also...

    Cycling new tank

That is crazy that ya'll paid someone to start it up & they did it wrong & didn't know diddly-squat. I hate to hear these stories. That is just wrong of people. Pretty much I would follow Sepulation's advice.

    Skimmer footprint?

No, I'm running some piece of junk old time Venturi driven un-identified piece that my brother gave me. It's years old, I'm upgrading next month probally getting the Coralif SuperSkimmer 220. I've heard good things about the ASM though.

    aqua c remora questions

Putting it higher will not necessarily make you produce skimate. Actually protien is one of the things skimmers take out the least of. Though there is a lot of stuff on the top that is skimmed out. I would try to attach it without using any extra pipe, this can take away from pressure. The Aqua...
