    Will a tangs fin regrow?

Yes sir it will. It will heal a lot faster in nice and clean water. If you haven't changed any water in a while it might not hurt to do a water change to help it heal up quicker.

    Juvenile Hippo Tang not eating

Don't overfeed tank and remove any uneaten food. It can take a few days for any fish to start eating and Hippo's are really jittery fish as i'm sure you already know. Don't get to worried until it's around day 5 of not eating. My 6 inch Hippo wouldn't eat for over a week after I bought him. I...

Start of one "BIG" SPS tank

Goodwin, You really seem to take care of your fish and tank. The fish look fat, happy and healthy. That is more then I can say for a big majority of people i've seen in this hobby. I think there's a lot worse things going on in this hobby then Goodwin's fish amount in a 800 gallon (tank plus...

    Yellow Tang

Yes, Yellow Tangs have a white line on their sides that appears when a change of light occures or when the fish is stressed. Totally normal.

    Moving houses and my DT

I moved my tank twice in the last 3 months. I moved my 75G across town and then recently i moved everything from my old 75G to a new 125G. Buy a lot of 5 gallon buckets. Save as much water as you can. I put my fish and corals in 5 gallon buckets. I put my sand in 5 gallon buckets. Don't clean...

    hippo and powderblue

Do you have a time out tank to place the PBT? When my Yellow Tang gets nasty he goes in my 30 gallon sump for 3 days. When he comes back he's the new fish again and not so aggressive. Fish are a lot like people. The PBT feels threatened with all the new comers and to make himself feel powerful...

    Free Yellow Tang

Phoenix, Arizona area only. I have a free Yellow Tang in good health. I had him over a year. He's pretty much bulletproof as far as health, perfect for that just cycled tank. He just has one issue I just can't take any longer. He's very aggressive in my 125 gallon tank. Every hiding space in the...

    Rehabilitated Tang

Putting him with established tankmates now would stress him and kill him in his poor condition. HLLE is not contagious but he could have other problems that could be. You don't want to spread anyhing to your healthy fish. Do hyposalinity on him for a month in a QT tank. I would feed him Zoecon...

    New England Aquarium (Boston)

I know when the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago opened in the 1930's they had semi trucks bring ocean water from the coast. They could probably do that again if they run out of water in Atlanta.

    Pink tail Trigger

My Pink Tail lives with two cleaner shrimps. When he first went into the DT my cleaners gave him a good scrubbing with no problems.

    Pink tail Trigger

Yes I have one and they are reef safe. They're very busy swimmers and are ferocious eaters. They don't eat other live fish or corals, but any food you feed the tank they'll dive bomb in eating as much as possible. If anyone has slow feeding fish that hang back at feeding time and wait for the...

Wow! Global Warming is going to kill us all! Right after Bird Flu kills us all! Right after Mad Cow Disease kills us all! Right after the Y2K computer bug kills us all! Right after the Cold War kills us all! Wait a second................. Do I believe Global Warming is a problem, probably? Do...

Start of one "BIG" SPS tank

Very interesting, you would think the RO unit would filter the copper out. How often do you change your RO units filters? You must go through a lot of RO water with that many tanks. You must be changing filters once a month? I would be willing to bet that your 470 also has high copper readings...
