    Mechanical Filtration in Refugium??

Other than my skimmer, of course, should I put filter floss or foam pads in my refugium to serve as mechanical filtration? If I do, won't it prevent pods from going back into the tank?

    water changes my view

I have a discus tank too. I do a 50% each weekend and that is not enough. They are visibly much happier after the change. Brighter colors and more active. In my reef I do 25% each weekend. It seems to work for me and corals seem a lot happier than when I was doing larger % changes once per...

You Have Got To Be Kidding Me!!!

The population of the U.S. is currently 304 million. Google it. Slice it up any way you want, you are not going to get over 2 dollars per person if you have 170 million dollars to distribute. Actually, I just googled the amount of taxpayers in the U.S. and it is 134 million. So that is $1.27...

    converting a 50g hexagon...need ideas

i was considering seahorses, but their diet worries me.....with all of my other fish I am able to rig up automatic feeders with flake or pellet food when I go on vacation. But I read that seahorses only eat live or frozen. I'd have to get a fishsitter, and I don't trust anyone with my tanks.
