I'm considering converting my 50g hex from freshwater to salt. I have some cichlids in it now.
(i already have a 90g reef that is 3 years old, so I know what I'm doing for the most part
)
Anyone have any cool ideas? The tank is tall. What would thrive and look good in a tall tank? any aquascaping ideas? The hexagon has a painted blue background on 3 sides.

yeah, a center tower of LR going all the way up the tank with some horses would be real cool. or if you could find some nice tonga branch rock, cut and paste it so it looks like a tree up the center with all the branches reaching to the glass.

i was considering seahorses, but their diet worries me.....with all of my other fish I am able to rig up automatic feeders with flake or pellet food when I go on vacation. But I read that seahorses only eat live or frozen.

I'd have to get a fishsitter, and I don't trust anyone with my tanks.

my personal goal in fishkeeping is to have as many different tanks as possible. right now i'm working on a 125 reef, and planning on a 300+ gallon shark tank. since different species of fish have specialized needs and arent compatible with others, i think having a reef, predator, and probably a nano horse tank is my ultimate goal. i say go for the horses. your tank isn't really big enough for an aggressive setup, and you already have a reef. having horses will be something new, with different challenges and rewards. i think the tank your converting would best suit seahorses and there are corals you could put in if you so choose.
