There is no crack, or any problems at all, works like a champ. It comes with all the original pieces except the bubble diffuser as you can see on the pic, which I never use since it's much quieter without it.

I used them retro fitted. you could use one large one in instead of 2, it's up to you. there are on off switches on the ballast to control each light.
