I added my sand last night and re-arranged the LR again...Tank continues to cycle...Amm = 2.5, Nitrites - .5 I also got my wave2k -- what a great thing!

Just went downstairs and the tank is clear....Thanks Earlybird...I left them on last night and it all settled nicely.

My tank is currently cycling with 130# LR. I just added 100 Lbs of sand (60 dead, 40 live). The tank is very cloudy, obviouosly. Should I keep the pumps off until it all settles - or do is it better to have circulation keeping the wtaer oxygenated for the LR/LS, and let the sand settle over...

If its small white "web" like stuff - it might be die-off from your LR....I am cycling my tank now and I am getting white web - almost looks like thin cotton...and I believe it is die-off. I am just lightly scrubbing the rock with a new toohbrush to clean it.

So this is my problem -- My Make up water tank is 30 gallons....my RO/DI takes 18 hours to fill it up....Even with changing 30 gal/day, I haven't been able to get it below 2.5.....I'll keep it as low as I can during the cycle....Any other ideas (besides getting a bigger make up tank ) Thanks...
