    Todays ***** visit....OMG

My ***** isn't all too bad, the first fish I got (2 false percs.) I bought from them, and they are the main attraction of the tank. However, a yellow tang I bought from them gave me an ich scare and he passed away a month or two ago, which looked to be caused by a temp. spike. The past times I...

Need Some Project Help (In-Wall, etc.)

Alright, so I have just moved everything I have to a 55 gallon tank, fish, inverts, live rock, sump. I now have an empty 120 gal as well as an empty 20 gallon tank. My idea: -Place the 120 as a partial in-wall (conceal with molding) will be an aggressive tank. -55 as a quarantine or LR curing...

    55 Gal Pics

These are just a few pics I snapped today with my iPhone, so they are not the best of quality! This is in my newly set-up 55 gal, which was a tank transfer from my 120 temporarily. Side shot: My goby: My red-leg hermit with a feather duster on its shell!

A Slight Dilemna (Have to move)

Well it is all done now, the move to the 55 at least. I'll post an update tomorrow morning to see how everyone is doing in the tank.

A Slight Dilemna (Have to move)

Alright, so I went to petsmart and picked up a 55 gallon kit. It comes with heater, hood, lights, etc. I'm now setting it up dry in my bedroom (about to wash it out). So from here I am planning on transferring water from my 120 into the 55 via buckets, and once the height is suitable, insert my...

A Slight Dilemna (Have to move)

Alright, well I am probably picking up the 55 gallon tomorrow. I have a couple days before we need to move, so that should give me some time to think something through, probably a mix of some of your suggestions. I know I will want to be careful when refilling, I will try and minimalize any...

A Slight Dilemna (Have to move)

Well ATM the cam is broken, but I can see if I can get some pictures. The tank is on a wood stand with doors. The sump is not inside, it is an outer sump. After this is all resolved I will return everything back to normal and begin cycling the 55 to be another tank. I'll see how much time I have...

A Slight Dilemna (Have to move)

So pretty much just empty it all (or most for that matter) into tubs and then just relocate? It will probably move only 10-20 ft

A Slight Dilemna (Have to move)

Well recently a small crack has formed in one of our water pipes, and the only way to access it is to remove the wood paneling from our walls. My 120 gallon is along that very wall, and will need to be moved somewhere else to prevent any damage. Tank info: -Running for 7 mo. -150 lbs LS -25 lbs...

    Stocking Help

Actually, I rarely see him nipping at the rocks, only a few times. I have algae clips that I put in there, and he nips at those. He really goes crazy over the flakes I put in. Kind of how the cookie monster is to cookies crazy. Anyhow, I am saving up right now for some more rock as you said, as...

    Stocking Help

Hi, I have had my tank running since March and have had all of my fish and inverts since about June this year. This is a 120 gallon tank with minimal LR at the moment. I have: -2 False Percs. -Yellow Tang about 4.5" -Dragon Goby about 3.5" -About 5 red and blue leg hermits -5 Turbo Snails -1 CC...

    Octopus Filosus

Wow! That really is a beautiful one you have there. Perhaps if I get a new tank I can make an Octopus tank. The price seems quite fair. I remember holding an Octopus once, we were crab fishing and it got caught in our net. I got to carry it down to the beach and let it go, amazing creatures.

Red star nearly climbinh out of the water?

Mine sometimes sticks his stomach out of the water! When there isn't food on the floor for him, you WILL see him cruising up high on the glass.

    Reef vs Fish Only

I have to go with reefs, but as reef46 said, it really does get expensive, especially if you have a large tank and want it to look filled with coral, or look like a piece of a reef out in the ocean. My tank (120g) is boring me right now, I need to get some more fish and rock pronto! (And by more...
