I was wondering what that coral was that you posted in the 6-pack thread? I have the same thing in my tank but no one at the fish store can tell me what it is... I got it for free though cause it came on my LR, so they were kinda mad ;) I thought it had died during my nitrate explosion, but...

I had a purple fire fish and it was great! It never tried to jump out, barely ever hid, and even got along with my mean clown. I think it would be a great fish for any tank.

I did weekly water changes of about half the water, and added some Caulerpa, it took 6 months, but eventally it went down :)

Its a seven gallon, nice and small so it fits in my dorm room, where it was until the nitrates shot up, now its at home :p The lighting is whatever came with the tank actually... just strong enough for polyps and mushrooms, nothing else, but I dont really have room for anything else ;)

My nitrates went down and everything is going well in my tank now, so I thought I would post a couple pics. I had to save them as txt to directlink from my page, so thats why they look funny in the black parts with the little white dots, but here they are:

Oh yeah, and for anyone who remembers me from so long ago when I used to post here... my nitrates finally went down (after two fish: jawfish and purple flame fish, died) and the coral that I THOUGHT was dead is now all coming back to life! Just wanted to share my good news :)

I have little white spots on my coraline algae, does this mean that it is dying? What should I do to help it? Everything else in the tank is thriving, so Im not sure what to do about it.

I had that problem too, but then the fire fish died (not becuase of the clown). My clown also killed a smaller clown that I had bought at the same time as her. I asked the lfs if she should be attacking him and they said yes but not too much, she should just be chasing him into the corner, but...

Are they easy to take care of? like feather dusters? Or are they really sensitive and die easily?

Yep, I checked for more, but havent found any yet. My shrimp stepped on it yesterday, and the thing brought all of its tentacles around its leg, but the let go of the shrimp, scared them both I think :P

LOL, doesnt really look like that either, but I cannot see its body, that stays hidden all the time, its just the tentacles that I can see. Oh well, it doesnt seem to be doing anything bad :)
