    HELP Stray Voltage

I replaced the light with another fixture (standerd 14watt flo) and there is no trace of voltage. The old fixture had the switch connected through the steel reflector then two wire nuts that went to the sockets, it was on ancient twin incandescent fixture that i used to [hr] in two 10watt...

    HELP Stray Voltage

No need for heaters here in the south, it turned out to be the fuge light. It was on a seperate circiut, even though it was off there was still power up to the switch.

    HELP Stray Voltage

I read a thread a few months ago ware an exp. electrician said he did not like ground probes because of the bird on a wire effect (no ground, no die). The pump will be gone as soon as i can touch it again. Just how long? it hurts to touch the water!

    HELP Stray Voltage

I was tending to my S/W tank this morning and was jolted by voltage. A pump in my fuge is the suspect (it has been slowing down in flow). After i killed power to the whole tank i still feel a tingle when i touch the water. Do i just wait until it disapates? how long will it hold power? Must i...

    Clown ignores my anemone

Thanx for the advice trigger11, sounds a little weird but what could it hurt? Maybe its like the story of the dog and his reflection (just had to have both steaks) any way i will try it tonight. If it does not work i will make sure the blue stripe is a YOUNG juvinile specimen.

    Clown ignores my anemone

Will agree that a clown is not a true fix to sebae difficulty, but the chances of a rather large specimen prev. hosting in wild are pretty good and that it would maybe help in the transition to tank life if a new bond was made right away. Kinda like the way some poeple retire then know not what...

    Clown ignores my anemone

I have only spot fed the nem twice in two months and only very small pieces of food. I did hours of research and more than a few highly regarded sources told me that the maroon and sebae were compatable and have formed bonds before in private tanks. Only two other clowns had higher...

    Clown ignores my anemone

While it is true that hosting is not a must, I am shure that there are benifits from the transfer of the natural slime coat of the fish to the anemone. Also just because my system is pushing over 13 watts per gallon i'm not going to stop spot feedings.

    Clown ignores my anemone

Clowns been growing fine, its the anem. i'm worried about. Many places say that the sebae is rather difficult and a clown will definatly help. Thought about trying to get clown to eat brine shrimp off/near the anem?

    Clown ignores my anemone

I moved my 1 yr old maroon clown from a large FOWL tank to a smaller tank that houses a new sebae anem. Both look great but they act like they have no clue to being host/hostie? Can i help them bond or should i just give them more time? It has been three weeks now and i realy hoped the would...

    Anemone Moving

About a two months ago i purchased a mushroom rock that a sebae anemone was on. The sebea had a nice nook on the rock and stayed there the whole time my LFS QT the shrooms for me. The day i went to bring the shroom rock home the sebae did not want to release its home so my friend let me have it...

    Adding a refugium

looks like most reef mud is a super fine particle size. I have what they call suger sand in my nano and it will not stay put for nothing. think i will go up a grade size.

    Adding a refugium

LR is no problem here but miracle mud was my first thought but it comes in too large of amount to be cost effective IMO. It was my understanding that live sand would support more "bugs", my mother has a nice amount of isopods in her DT wich has 2" of Nature's Ocean Bio-Active Reef Substrate.

    Adding a refugium

I have a 55gl FOWL that is about a year old. I just purchased a hang on refugium to grow copapods for my 10gl reef tank. Other than some macro algea what should I put in it? I was thinking of a live sand product and if thats the way to go then how fine a grain do I need? Any nitrate reduction...

Help! tell me if this is okay

I have been using Instant ocean or Reef Crystals. If you look around you can mail order a 5gl bucket that makes 150-160gl for $30-$35 and $10 to ship it. I have no info on your choice of skimmer (sorry).
