Your anemone slightly resembles this carpet ( except for the coloring ) and this carpet seems to be very easy to care for, I don't know the exact species, anyone else care to identify?

live sand and crushed coral what am i doing...

The tank has been in this state for about 3 months, and I have vacuumed the gravel at least 4 times, even vacuumed the sandy areas. I use a standard gravel wash tube, and if you're careful, the gravel doesn't get mixed in with the sand ( the shell border prevents that ) the sand, on the other...

    Not enjoying this hobby yet

I agree that sometimes, in the beginning stages, you come home from work tired, and have to test, mix water, siphon, re test, etc, etc, and it can seem to be a drag, BUT....once the tank establishes itself, you will be so happy that you'll add MORE stuff, and have even MORE work to complain...

So I thought I was going to die the other day.

Yes, I agree, but in both instances, he ran out of the storm door before the the door latched shut automatically. I have since adjusted the doors shock absorber, and repositioned the latch, to make sure the door closes tight, and fast. He is VERY sparky and fast, and follows his master closely...

    your most dominate fish??!?!?!

The queen trigger dominates the entire house! You walk into the room and it thrashes at the water's surface, splashing the water through the plastic grate on top of the tank onto the table and houseplants, as if to say "FEED ME MORE". So you feed it a silverside or two, or three, and it swims in...

live sand and crushed coral what am i doing...

Another option would be to section off areas of the gravel and have some sections of sandy bottom. For instance, in one of my tanks, I had all crushed coral and I didn't want to pull out the crushed coral and [hr] up the the tank chemistry. I used some oyster shells to make a retaining wall...

    black sand?

I have black sand from Petsmart and it looks good. Some fragments of the live rock are beginning to become scattered on top of it as the trigger chomps at the rock, but it still looks cool. It's actually more of a dark grey rather than jet black, and it's a nice change of appearance if you have...

So I thought I was going to die the other day.

My dog acts just like that. He barks ferociously and charges at other dogs, and people, but is just wanting to play. He charged at my neighbor while he was walking his dog, and the guy freaked out and started kicking my dog. I felt so bad for both of them, but neither of them really got hurt. He...
