    FS: 400Gallon Aquarium Indianapolis, IN

In the future instead of scrapping you can use vinegar or an acid to take off the calcium deposits. Hardware stores sell muriatic acid for etching concrete, works like a charm. Just follow the instructions and use in a well ventilated area. It has never damaged acrylic in my experience. PS what...

Tore down my 180 last night

When soaking your rock in RO water consider doing a test or running a phosphate sponge and a polyfilter. Also replace your bulbs if a year old. Maybe consider a refugium with algae...

    What Type Of Salt?

I have used it for years with no problems. Using instant ocean now. Just because it is a little less expensive and am having good results with it as well. I think that the quality of your make up water is more important than salt brand. Just stick with the major manufactures.

    aquamedics skimmers ?

I am not sure of your question, If I have it right your return pump should be closest to the skimmer out put to return the most oxygen enriched and cleanest water to the Display Tank. Of course you want to avoid micro-bubbles returning to the DT. You can use the pre-filter on the mag 12 but you...

Thanks for the input. I am a believer that you do get what you pay for too. I was wondering if maybe perfecto in made in the NY area and shipping was cheeper maybe they use thinner glass than AGA. I just wanted to make sure that if I went with Perfecto would not want any horror stories like...

    looking for new skimmer

Skimmer ratings are often like MPG with car ads your milage or efficiency may vary. We all have to make some compromise to fit equipment for our individual system. Your choice should be fine for your system. Remember a Skimmer is only 1 tool in keeping a successful reef tank. From what you say...

    Ordered new tank today!!!!

You can use one bulb on your setup 175w. If your coral choices require a lot of light go for a 250w. You may end up using supplemental florecent anyway. Most reffers prefer MH. I personally use 175w mh 10k +2 vho 1 actinic white and 1 actiniic blue for my 65gal. I have mostly LPS corals. Your...
