    Little White Spots

Thats them. Should I just scrape them off? Are they bad? They are also on the live rock.

    Little White Spots

I have these little white specs on the back glass, they look like a tiny swirls. I'm pretty sure they aren't snails, I have some babies and that's not what these look like. Any ideas? I can't get a picture, it would just look like hundreds of tiny specs.

Weird things growing in my sump

So I was looking in the sump with a flashlight this morning and noticed these weird whitish things all over. Some are pretty small, but some are about 1/2 long. They are kinda hanging from the sides and the bottom of the sump. I scooped out a couple to get a closer look and they are kinda...

    U-Tube Question

It's a mag drive 950. I had to put a ball valve in the return line because it seemed to pump faster than the water was going into the wet/dry...I guess I'll play around with it some more.

    U-Tube Question

I have a hang on overflow box with 2 u-tubes, one keeps getting an air bubble then eventually just looses the siphon... any ideas why? Could it be that the return isn't pumping fast enough so there is only water enough for the one side??

    Just Shoot Me!

Since I procrastinated for a few days the carpet seems to be almost dry and doesn't smell so I'm just going to leave it. I think that with such a large tank it's just too much to move, something bad would happen. So I have just been dealing with how to get this this plumbed and running. The...

    Just Shoot Me!

I swear I have had nothing but trouble with this dang tank When I first got the hang on overflow I plumbed it with PVC because it didn't come with the hoses, but it was quite an eyesore since the tank is too close to the wall it has to hang on the side so I ordered the flex hoses. The first...

    Evaporation

Thanks! OK so my evaporation is normal :) It just seems like I'm always topping off the sump so I wanted to make sure it was normal. I used to keep turtles in this tank and there wasn't near as much evaporation, I guess it's the lights.

    Evaporation

How often do you top off? I've got a 155 gallon and I'm wondering about how much evaporation I should expect?

    New GBTA!

My clown is very territorial with his BTA, he won't let anyone else near it. It's so fun to watch them! I was feeding the anemones some shrimp yesterday and dropped a few pieces for the fish to eat too and the clown was taking his pieces to his buddy the anemone...so cool!

In The Event Of A Power Outage

Also you will want to make sure that if the return is more that a couple inches below the water level in the DT you'll want to drill a hole an inch or two below the water level so that the suction is broken or the water will be sucked from the DT to the sump if the power goes out. Glad I...

    Overflow noise

I think that I've got the same overflow as you...the pvc that comes with it is just a hair off the 1" that you'd get at Home Depot. The Home Depot guy found me some an isle over where they have the sink plumbing, it comes in about a 4 or 5 inch piece and the top is slightly wider, which worked...

    Overflow noise

I had the same problem with mine. I tried all kinds of things and what I finally wound up doing was getting some pvc the same size that it came with (I didn't want to mess up the pipe that came with it just in case my plan didn't work), got a couple pieces to plug the tops and drilled holes in...
