new to this and need a little help.

Before adding any supplements, you need to test for them to see what's needed. I would do the water change first, more than likely, you'll replenish what is needed in your tank depending on your brand of salt mix. Maybe someone else will chime in to tell you what levels of what you need.

    Very new !!!

Hello and welcome, First off, don't add anything else to your tank! You need to get some saltwater test kits, at least the basics : ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate. Read some of the "how to" threads on here, especially on cycling your tank. Are you using RO (reverse osmosis) water? And if your...

    Help with water please

Hello, bbeaslbob, she said her nitrites are off the chart and her nitrates were at 0. And as Snake said, try a different test kit if you're using the API. If it's not the kit, you mentioned you added some live rock from your step-daughter's tank. Was that rock out of water for any length of...

Hippo has white spots? Nothing else does

I have to agree with Jstdv8. Once you start seeing white spots on the fish, more than likely the gills are already saturated with them, and just because you don't see it on the other fish, doesn't mean that their gills aren't infected. QT all fish for at least 8 weeks, leave your DT fishless...

    Sebae Anemone @ SWF.com

Yes, i covered everything in anticipation to getting this anemone. And everything is healthy in my tank, so I don't think it expelled an toxins (unless it's too small to do any harm). I believe my water params were fine, tested before adding nem, ammonia and nitrites-0, nitrates were between...
