A question off of this.......When you get live rock from a local store do you need to cure it too or do you just put it in the tank?

How long can it be stored? How do you store it? I had tons in my tank and now that I'm redoing it I would like to take some out. I don't want to kill it, but I'm not sure I want to use it all. I still want to have the suggested pounds per gallon, but I have a lot extra.
