Need help adjusting Nautilus EX skimmer

did you ever get your Kent Skimmer figured out? I just got one and am having a real hard time adjusting it. I have it wide open and the foam still creeps over into the collection cup filling it up in seconds. If I crank it down, it blows the collection lid off. Anything you've figured out...

    OREGON, anyone here selling stuff

beanie, I'm in Grants Pass. Be careful about traveling to get stuff. I went to Portland once to buy what some guy said was 100#s of LR. Turned out to be like 40 to 45. Total waste of trip. Specially with the gas prices so high. If your just lookin for frags, there is a guy in Beaverton...

Do water changes dilute copper in QT?

alot of people don't like this stuff but I used Rid Ick. It is formalin based and will turn your silicone blue if you have a glass tank. It cured my purple tang in about 3 days. Had a severe case of ick. Just make sure you do the water changes in between treatments.

try doing a search on these. You should find some really good info. In short, yes copods are good and a good sign for your tank. Here is just one article I found that may help. There are several different types of "pods" just so you know (isopods, amphipod etc..)...

    Flame Scallop

mine is about 4 months old and is sitting right up where you can see it. It has propelled itself up under the rocks before though. It stopped moving after about a month. Looks like it has major eye lashes going on! One major thing is you cannot expose them to air. They are kinda like...

    live sand

yes you most likely will get a cycle. I've got one in the works and have researched several BB and found most everyone gets at least a mini cycle/spike. Just what I've read, not my experience.

    Ammonia Spike..help

no offense flobskey, but I wouldn't use the chemicals to drop the ammonia. There is a problem and you need to figure it out for the long run. Along with whats already been said, I was kinda thinking maybe the conch stirred up a spot in the substrate to cause the spike?

would this work for a DSB?

I've been reading thread after thread about the debate over silicate based sands and aragonite based. Seems to me that the main issue is looks. I saw a post (forgot whose it was) that showed three extreme closeups of southdown, caribsea-aragamax and some silicate sand. Indeed the aragonite...
