How do you mix bamboo sharks? Do you have to get a female and a male or can you just buy 2 sharks? Also can you mix butterfly fish with sharks?

I'm looking at buying a dwarf lion tomorrow, they have 2 of them and they are both around 2.5" big, should I go with the bigger one(about 1/4 of inch) or doesn't matter, right now they are in a tank with no hiding spots so I'm sure they are freaked, so I'd like to minimize stress on these guys...
