    LFS nightmare!

OK, I usually go to DNA in Carrollton, but am looking for something a little closer to Garland to just pick up water, etc. Do you know of any stores on the east side of Dallas?

    OT - But VERY Cool!

I work for a group of pediatric neurosurgeons but we don't do that particular procedure. Dr. Bruner is at Vanderbilt medical center in Tennessee. He has done about 30 of these procedures now. I started working here 1 month before I found out my wife was pregnanat with our first child. I was...

    Question on Nitrites

when you mention the brine food, it is a frozen cube? Do you feed the whole cube? I use the frozen brine shrimp cubes, but do not feed an entire one to a single animal. I thaw the cube in some saltwater and then feed the tank. I know there are several sizes of cubes, but even the small flat...

can someone suggest a compatable fish

I know, I have tried everything to get rid of it - reduced lighting to about 8 hrs./day. I only feed 3 times per week (1 cube of frozen mysis shrimp or 1 cube of brine shrimp alternated) and DT't phyto according to directions on the bottle. All of the food is eaten - rarely do I see any hit...

can someone suggest a compatable fish

I am already looking at adding a pink and blue watchman goby. Will the LMB eat hair algae of the rock, or just the glass?

can someone suggest a compatable fish

I had thought about a LMB, but my wife really wants more color in the tank. I love the idea of a LMB. I guess I am really looking for somthing to eat algae and be colorful. My tang never ate algae. I have a constant battle with hair algae - the hermits or tang wouldn't go near it!

can someone suggest a compatable fish

The Clarkii *IS* grown up! When I got the tank, it was an established tank. There was a small yellow tail blue damsel in the tank and had been there quite a while. I guess the move disrupted everything. The Clarkii took out the damsel. I added the royal gramma to replace the damsel and...

can someone suggest a compatable fish

I currently have a 54 gal corner with power quad lighting (192 watts). Substrate is fine grain sand - about 2 1/2 inches deep. Livestock: Clarkii Clown, Flame Hawk, Royal Gramma, Fire shrimp, astrea and Mexican turbo snails, miniature reef hermit crabs, mushrooms and button polyps. I am...

growing white spot in eye of a yellow tang

I returned from vacation 2 days ago to find my Tang with a white spot inside the eye. I checked it today and it is bigger, covering almost all of the pupil. It is not cloudy, it is a bright white. The tang is 4 years old and the tank is well established Any ideas?

    SeaClone skimmers

OK, my mistake! It is not a SeaClone. It is a Sealife Systems motorized skimmer. Anyone know about those?

    SeaClone skimmers

My current skimmer is a DIY made by previous owner - the collection cup is coming apart - I have tried to repair it numerous times with silicone, but it only lasts a few months. How long have you had your 100? Isn't that the older model? Don't they just have the 75 and 150 now?

    SeaClone skimmers

I don't have anywhere to put a hang on though. I have a corner tank with a sump. Unfortunately I don't have the cash to go for a nice $300 skimmer, but I want to upgrade from the trash airstone model I have. Would the Seaclone, being a venturi style, still be an upgrade over the old airstone...

    SeaClone skimmers

Has anyone had any experience with the new SeaClones? I think they have upgraded them since the 100 was around. I am looking at the NV 75 for my 54 gal tank.

    Colt suddenly wasting away

This is a 54 gal reef ready tank that has been established for 4 years. Lighting is 2x96 watt pc's that are 4 months old. They run for 12 hours per day. I have 3 powerheads -- 2 up high and 1 near the bottom. I went on vacation and then had to leave on a family emergency for a few weeks...

    Colt suddenly wasting away

About 2 weeks ago, my colt which has been doing very well for several years, started to go downhill. It is shriveling, but still extends polyps to feed. It is turning a pale color and shrinking. Water is OK - phosphates were high, but came down with water changes and phosguard. I have had...

OT- All the divers out there

eng50, we are not planning to go until June of 2005! Our 10 year anniversary. My wife is not a diver - I have to talk her into getting certified and then dealing with a live aboard! On our honeymoon, she spent her time on the beach and I spent 2 days in the water! I have my work cut out for...
