What is the purpose of that air valve?

I just bought a Sea Clone Skimmer ( I got it real cheap). Is it a decent skimmer for a 72g tank. Also there is an air valve on the tube coming from the intake of the pump - How long or often should I leave that open. Any input is great, Thanks.

It did have an anenome but it died after a year. I purchased the Clown as an adult and the anenome was pretty small, and he still messed up my sand. I guess size does matter.

Can anyone tell me why in the Hell my Tomato Clown insists on destroying my sand bed. I even it out, and clean it. Then he comes along and dusts it all back up again. About a month ago I put a slew of blue hermit craps in my tank. I have a 12in Engineer Goby in there with them. The Goby will pick the snails up with his mouth and drop them in another place in the tank anybody ever see that before?

I agree, just disconnect the ballast in the light. It ought to be a black box looking object. Take it to a hardware store and try to match it up. It may be the starters which are cheaper, but they usually dont blow bulbs when they are bad.

3 or 4 Green Chromis would be fine. I always felt that striped damsels are the more aggressive.

The idiot at the lFS told me they wouldnt work, and I have 2 percs and a tomatoe and they et along great. I also have a less crowded 72 gallon tank.

I have heard over and over again that seperate species of Clowns will no tlive together. Out of emergency I placed a Tomatoe Clown and its host anenome with two Percs in a 72g. They get along fine for now, will that most likely last or am I better off seperating them?

I would put the loot on the Striped Damsel in a split.

When I say Goboes I shouldve been more specific. The engineer Goby is what I was talking about. They are cheap. and many people mistake them for an eel:)

Damsels man Damsels I have also found certain Gobies make good starter fish. I am a beginner myself and wasmt smart enough to ask about Angels, and lost two or three before I realized I would need more expierence.
