    Calcium Reactor broken

I figured as much-- can't get ahold of him. There is a clear hose, like a return hose or air hose that goes from his reactor to his sump. The water isn't flowing through it-- it's moving about 6 inches in a direction, with a big air bubble. I'll keep trying him. I wasn't sure if anyone would...

Why are triggers not "reef safe"?

Dont know if this is the correct forum for this, but I like Niger triggers and am considering adding one to my 55 reef. From what I've read here, they and other triggers are not reef safe. Do they eat corals etc etc? Thanks

    another clownfish ailment?

I have another clown which has some of the black spots too. I also have a royal grama, firefish goby, green chromis, and a scooter blenny and they all seem fine. My parameters are all normal.

    another clownfish ailment?

I've had the clown for a few months. It's been acting fine otherwise; swimming around like normal, eating like normal. The whiteish area is something on the glass I think.

    another clownfish ailment?

My clown has black spots on his side. Could the be from hosting in a flowerpot- rubbing against it at night when its closed? This isnt the best pic, but you can see the spots. Thanks

    Freshwater Rock in Saltwater

I bought some rock for my freshwater tank that sort of looked like small pieces of flagstone. I can't remember if they said they were for freshwater only, but I have them in a saltwater tank I am setting up. Should I be worried about this? I've heard to not put lava rock in saltwater, but thats...

    Too many fish?

Is the Tang considered hardy stock? Should I put him in the 55 now to produce ammonia? I wont be adding another Tang to this tank, either. I suppose I could get another clown and add it to the 55 to bump along the cycle also.

    Too many fish?

"How are you cycling the 55?" I am hoping it will cycle in time like my 29 did. I didnt have any problems with it. The only difference is that I had the 2 clowns in the 29 for the entire cycle, and in the 55 I am just taking my time to make sure the levels check out before I add anything.
