    Xenia outbreak - need suggestions

How about this: Since the fish and other corals will already be out of the tank. What if I lowered the PH? Wouldn't this kill the Xenia? But what effect would this have on the rest of the tank. I would imagine with the amount of Xenia die off it would cause a cycle - right? What value of PH...

    Xenia outbreak - need suggestions

I've already sold off the bigger pieces -- just interested in completely removing all the rest without having them grow back. There are so many short ones now that you can't even see the rock under them. I've also done many large water changes and I'm skimming -- and it might have slowed them...

    My first DIY stand

Just a thought.... the stand seems pretty tall and narrow from the picture - and the whole thing will be very top heavy. You might want to consider making sure you have a way to secure the stand to the wall to avoid any chance of tipping. On mine, I just drilled a hole through one of the 2x4's...

    The ecosystem reefugium

I'm using the miracle mud system and have been very happy with it. I saved on the cost by buying a 30gal glass tank and added acrylic dividers to it. If you e-mail ecosystem they will mail you out a drawing on how to build your own. I then just had to buy the mud. Their support is great -...

    Another noisy overflow HELP!!!

I had the same problem on my 90gal.. The Durso helped the overflow noise guite a bit... but the water entering the sump was very loud and created a lot of bubbles. What I did was add some back pressure to the drain line before it emptied into the sump. I did this by reducing from a 1 inch pvc...
