    My Snowflake Eel

I use eggcrate (light diffuser) on my eel tank. It is easy to custom fit to your needs and does not hold heat in the way glass does. I have 4 large eels that have not been able to move this...you can use stick on velcro to attach it to the tank and it wont move. hth

Salt Water Fish in the Desert

I live in southern lousiana. It is very hot and humid, when the lights are on in the tank, it would jump to 84 in no time. I went out and bought 2 10.00 fans from walmart, the kind that "tip" to the angle you want. I mounted them on the wall at the top of the tank, blowing across the water. The...

    Volitan Questions

My 10+ inch lionfish lives with tangs, a flame angel, lawnmower blennie, mandarin fish, tomato clown, a snowflake eel, all sorts of crabs, snails and serpent stars. My baby lives with a baby valentini puffer, clarkii clown and marine betta. Both are very docile. The danger is in you being...

    snowflake

I have just scoured the countryside for a two hour radius and could not find silversides for my almost 3 ft long sfe. I was told by a great online fish food store that the silversides are seasonal and right now no one has them. Hikari is their supplier and Hikari told them they would have them...

    Ponderind a Lion Starter setup

I have 2 lions, one is 12 inches from head to tail and the other is a new acquisition that is only 2 inches long. One word of advice, make sure you see them eating. My big lion had to be wild caught and he is a constant challenge. The baby is eating anything I throw to him, and is joyfully...

    I want seahorses

Actually, I have seahorse tanks and hang out on the seahorse.org and syngnathid.org, OR has been getting quite a bit of bad press over their customer service and lack of honoring their guarantee. I have bought two shipments of captive bred seahorses from *********** and they were awesome. They...

    Reef and Aggressive

I have a large volitan and a large SFE in my 175 reef. They are fed daily, food mash is thrown in for the rest of the tank as well...2 tangs, rabbitfish, LMB, and a flame angel. The corals are thriving. They eat as much of the fish food mash as the fish do. Theonly problem I have is with the eel...

    Lion still wont eat

I soak bay scallops (found at the grocers) in garlic oil and my lion loved it. It was what I fed him after we first got him. If your lion is a baby, just cut the scallops in half. I also make my own blended food variety similar to the one mentioned and my lion loved it, until he discovered...

    Help with seahorses?

most will tell you that seahorses are for the experienced only. They are not easy to keep. Water has to be perfect and in a small tank, that is hard to achieve. Wildcaught seahorses must have live food and hatching brine shrimp does not fit the bill.

    swf.com- flame angel

with flame angels you have a 50/50 shot. Some will bother corals and some wont. I have several tanks but only one of them is a reef. If it starts to pick the corals, I will just put it in another tank. Always have a backup plan :D
