112 Gallon Aquarium

I got an aquarium that's 112 gallons!! :D
And your all gonna hate me because........
It's freshwater. Hehe, :)
But it will eventually (and i mean in like the NOT so very near future (sadly)) become transfored into a big saltwater monster of my own in my bedroom! :)
It's gonna be epic! I don't know why im already making this thread, im just excited and containing it to myself is hard . . :(
Picture coming, and yes i know . . . Freshwater + fake decorations = vomit, but you have to see how big it is (to me anyways alot of you have bigger) lol, but it makes me happy anyways!

Its my ugly beauty :)

ya cmon swf mom.....hmmmmm

ahhh good night everyone! Hope we didnt hijack lol. Keep us updated andrew or make a new thread if this one is to graphic lol

Haha, well not exactly what i was expecting as a result. . . but a result none the less! And the dimensions are 5 feet long, 2 feet tall, and 18 inches deep, the pictures seem distorted and make it look alot smaller but its really big and ugly in person!
As for the transformation, this summer (with the help of my new JOB, yes thats right a real job!) i am planning to;
I want to do an overflow in this tank, with a sump underneath, which will be hard with such thick glass, and the fact that i wouldnt know where to start or how to plumb it . .( we can talk about this later or you can suggest things? )
1: Priorities first; Lighting, i want a full blown reef in this sucker, and i'm so confused about what lights i should get, i know practically nothing about LED's and i dont know if they are the way to go, (its a really expensive way too!) or should i just do MH?
2: Base rock, to build up shape and structure, then live rock to seed the tank
3: Sand, not sure which kind i want yet, fine or coarse.
4: Cycle . . . Hooorah.
5: after that, just basics whater changes, slowly adding livestock and corals, invertibrates will be fist in.
6: Am i missing anything important?
CUC:
Snails, so many snails, you can never have too many snails.
I want crabs (haha, well . . not that kind) I'm not sure what kinds to get, suggestions that are docile and wont mess with shrimp, or slow moving fish and pom pom's?
I HATE hermit crabs, but have heard good things about scarlet reef hermits?
sand sifters (olive snails and nassarius?)
Some type of shrimp, coral banded, or fire shrimp
also can anyone tell me about tiger tail sea cucumbers? i read they're good for cleaning tight crevaces and under rocks, do they need to be added to a mature tank like an anemone or what?
Corals:
I think with good lighting, i will want to try SPS
LPS for sure, i love lps corals
mushrooms, zoas, palys
softies
FISH:
My 2 Ocell clowns.
Yellow tang
Flame hawk
Coral Beauty or Flame angel
Royal Gramma
I'm also considering not doing a reef tank and making a set up for agressive fish instead . . i am still undecided but more leaniant to reef tanks. Anyways . . thats all i have now, as this is a future project, and i dont know for sure on specs and whatnot, any suggestions appreciated! :D

Its totally up to u andrew! I wanna a predator tank real bad though! So if u do this i will be very jealous lol!

Keep us posted and there are t5 lights as well....pics are great lol

I really like the way LED's look, and the way you can adjust them is pretty wicked! Like the lightening setting i just saw on somebody's thread, soo cool.
And yes pictures are a good thing, theres just nothing to photograph unless you want pictures of angelfish and guppies, haha!

LED's are a good way to go. If you can, I would go the DIY route and that would save some $$ and you can customize the lights the way you want them. I am currently running metal halides and love the way they look, but will be doing LED's for my next build.

LEDs are the wave of the future man imo.... low heat, earth friendly (low electricity), and good par!
