I have been really eager to get a look at the new Red Sea C-skim 1200. I really really wish
they made more then just one model (namely a bigger one), but for a 125gal, and if you stock more on the angel/butterfly/tang side as opposed to triggers and puffers, the skimmer should be enough. Seems to work great based on what's online about it.

I got my 120 from glasscages and I live only about an hour away from them. They are in the middle of NO WHERE. Mine leaked after a few months and it really wasn't worth my time on bringing it back to them. They did silicone the heck out of it so I really don't no how it leaked but when I upgrade with buy with them again. Their wharehouse was full of the common size tanks- so when you order they most likely already have one made.

I never heard of Bubble Magus. Have you read any reviews of it?
Yes, I have read a few large threads on them and have seen nothing but good. I think I am going to take the chance with one..

My tank had to be made custom because of the overflows. the tank has the date it was made on it, and it is the day after I ordered. There is also a paper that came with it about not putting water in a tank less than three weeks after it is made.

did you go with a bubble magus? I am looking to upgrade my skimmer and have been looking at this brand, seems like the only trouble was on the bm100 pumps and they have come out with a version 2 since. which model were you looking at?

I have been dreading this post for the past few weeks because I was hoping things would get better. Our basement flooded and nothing could be saved. The carpet and walls all had to be torn up. With the mold that started to grow nothing could be saved. New start with the basement means a major delay on this tank... I am so frustrated right now I don't know what to do.

Damn that sucks...how did it flood?
We had gotten rain/melting snow which was to much for the sewers It came back up the drain in the basement. It was just dirty rain water but in managed to create a huge mess. Almost everything had to be thrown out. Luckily we did not have anything of value other than our pool table which we were getting rid of anyway.

Yikes, sorry to hear. Hopefully you can get back to planning soon.

Well not much to update other than I bought a few things for the tank.
250watt Visi-Therm Stealth Heaters (2)
Mag Drive 18 Pump
50 gallon 3 pack Instant Ocean Salt (2)
Seaflor Special Grade Reef Sand (only 80lbs so I can make sure I like it.
)
I think I'm going to order the Bubble Magus Skimmer and take the chance with it. I hope to get that ordered later this week. After that I won't have anything to do until the basement is redone
. Hopefully by the end of summer.

Nothing really new, but my order came today while I was not home and sat in the rain for a few hours. The boxes were falling apart as I was bringing them in the house.
. Everything came in good condition, and I really like the size of sand. I will be getting a bit more sometime soon.
I still have not gotten the skimmer... I just can't seem to talk myself into getting a skimmer that there is not a ton of info about. I still think I might try it, but I am trying to find more reviews on it.
I am starting to think about stocking and have a few stocklists. I will post those sometime soon to see what you guys think.
Sorry for the slow updates and build, things just arn't going as planned!

SLACKER!
what about the ASM line? I have heard nothing but good things and a few people with very expensive fish in this section of the board run them.

Haha well it's not everyday your basement gets destroyed by water damage haha
That is why it is taking so long.

Not much is being done because we were already in the middle of two bathroom renovations when the basement flooded. One bathroom is done, and the other still needs some work. We never really used the basement to begin with, so we are not in a real hurry to get it done. I would love to get it done and get the tank up, but I have to think realistically with money as tight as it is. My goal is by the middle of summer it will be done and the tank up.

I got my skimmer today! I decided on a MSX200.

Sorry I haven't been on here lately.. (not that anyone cares) It just really slowed down around here and I lost interest in the boards. I will try and update more.
The basement is coming along, and I will have the tank up by the middle or end of summer. I have everything for the tank but rock.
Hope everyone is doing well!

Looks great! That's a serious skimmer... What is your return pump for the main tank?

My return pump is a mag 18. The one in the picture is the pump for the skimmer.
