Could be worse, she could be pregnant.

Thanks for giving me some perspective. At least she's not pregnant or on drugs, and she gets good grades-she's just emotional, smart mouthed, and moody.

Don't forget the "I have to do EVERYTHING" when you ask her to put her own glass in the sink

The 19 year old is starting..... I thought I lucked out years ago, come to realize she's a late bloomer.

imagine being a rowdy boy having to walk around on eggshells around your little sister. I'm soo glad she has mellowed out. And just had a bad taste in boys now.
All it would take is one look and there would be hours of crying....

I thought it was just my 13 yr. old boy....looks like age might have something to do with it...

True, but you can throw her out, problem solved. The rest of these poor, misfortunate, parental units have to deal with it till age 18.

This is bad to say, but there are times that I look forward to that moment...

....and then I come to my senses and remember I'm just a parent dealing with a 13 yr. old. But if he still exhibits this behavior at 19, the door will be smacking him in the rear on his way out.

My daughter actually doesn't do the "I have to do EVERYTHING" routine, but it is a favorite of my 11 year old son. We made him pick up sticks in the yard today and he started the inevitable whining "OHHHHH, I have to do EVERYTHING". Then he said he wanted to move to a house with no trees in the yard. Fat chance! We love it here and we have a very heavily wooded acre, so he's in for years and years of picking up fallen sticks.

A related subject...How do you keep them away from boys until they are 21 or dad (meaning me) has expired...whichever comes first.
