No I will actually run a skimmer too small for my system rated at about half the volume I have in the system but as mentioned in the post about the entire setup I hope it will be a calcualted risk as we designed the Turf scrubber to scrub at high capacity so a skimmer would not be needed at all according to SantaMonica but for all I have decided on adding a small skimmer anyway just in case and he will be plugged on the intake to the Refugium to have clean water run into the fuge avoiding that to become a Nitrite/Nitrate factory getting all the dirt coming through the filtersocks in it. So that makes the water coming into the fuge filtered by 2 separate media.
If shows that the Turf scrubber under performs or doesnt work as planned I can always add a bigger skimmer at that point.

What kind of skimmer are you planning?
BK 650 like mr. Ching? I run a cheap version of it and it's doing very well fndw 400 is rated for 1200 -1600 gallon .

Rk2 is a good choice too!

waw nice monster where did you get that and how much green you gave for that?
Just as extra: I am looking at a Home made design of a skimmer right now created by someone here from Siam Reef Club and if needed might go with that??
