150 year old hitchhiker found on rocks!??!?!

Hey guys and gals, check this guy out. This was discovered by a member on another board (KDodds) on his rocks. It has been positively IDed as a chiton, but the most interesting thing, aside from how he missed seeing such a huge creature, at 5-6 inches, for several years, is that it may be as old as 150 years going by it's size!! At a minimum, the estimate was 60 years old, and it may possibly be as much as 150 years old. The thing could have been born in the 1850s!!!! Here's some great shots taken by Bryan Leale.

Wow!! That must be a very old kind of chiton. I don't know any other in the species that has the plates so spread out. Who ID'd him? Was is some bio prof or something. Either way, VERY cool!
