Not much new. I have done quite a bit of work on my canopy. I have my actinics wired and working. And everything in the canopy installed. Just waiting on my MH sockets which I will have this weekend. I also had to cut off the outlets on the ballast(s) that go to the MH socket and replace them with normal outlets cause it came with the type of outlet you use on your computer and I did not feel like finding a exension cord for it. So there will be a female outlet on the ballast and a male on the socket and I will just run a good extension cord from the ballast to the socket. Once the canopy is done I am going to run the lights a few hours a day and work my way up to my normal lighting schedule hoping I will not get a huge algae bloom.

Thanks for the comments! The skimmate is prob just from adding the sand and everything. Here are some pix of the canopy on the tank. I will need to take it off to add the MH sockets and the VHO bulbs but I wanted to see how it looked and make sure everything fit ok which it did.

I have the lights up and running. I also added my clowns from my 75 and a bunch of live rock just so I do not get a spike. It will not be there for to long.

Looking nice.
From looking at your pictures I see you have a few tanks. How is that electric bill with those tanks going?
I would love to add 2 tanks to my living room. I have a 54 gal reef in my den and 30 gal horse tank that I'm building for the living room. I also have a 125 that I want to set up in the LR too but my wife says that we don't have the room for it.

Well my 75g adds no more then 6amps, My 29 takes 2? and this takes no more then 10. I am not sure how that adds up in the bill but IMO its not to bad.

What is the ******** height of your canopy? Did you find a good deal on the parts to your lighting system some where? I'm looking to do the same setup in my canopy.

I work at a place that is a dealer for icecap so I got pretty good prices. My canopy is 14". The MH bulbs are about 12" off the water. I have no heating problems so far.

I am making my 75g a frag tank. So there will not be alot of rock in there anyway. I only moved the rock from the 75 to the 180 so I did not get a spike when adding the fish from my 75 to the 180. Cause I started the 180 with all lace rock so there was not alot of bacteia so I added all the rock from my 75 so I would not get a spike. So 75 has some rock in the DT and alot in the sump, And 180 has lace rock and then some live rock from my 75g but the live rock will only be there for a few more weeks then I am just going to sell it or kill it off and store it. Hope that makes sense.
And I did move everything but corals over to the 180 today. I will take some pix of everything tomorrow.

I have nothing else to do so here are some pix. Everyone seems very happy in the 180. All the corals from the 75 will be moved over in a week or so and then I will clean up the 75 a little more. You can see in some old pix I had a aqua controller JR on the 180 but did not like it so I moved it to the 75 and took the reef keeper from the 75 to the 180. I like the reef keeper much better

I am thinking a powder brown tang (but who knows how long it will take and how many I will go through to get a healthy one) maybe a hippo, and a trio of fairy wrasses
