1st Reef Tank Diary (55g)

I have a new addition to the tank this weekend. I have added a burnt orange mushroom that has great color. I have also since moved the location of my purple/blue shrroms and a zoo rock. All in all everything seems to be pretty happy! Knock on wood.
I have a pair of perculas that are coming out of QT at the end of the week. I'm looking forward to getting some more activity in the tank!

new shrooms

Thanks alot!! That new shroom really stands out under the actinics. God Bless Actinic lighting!!
I am really loving how the tank is coming together. I just love the variety that you can get with shrooms and zoos.

OK, so here are some updated images from today. I just added some green zoos on a long rock. I have also added recently a candy cane coral. I think it is coming along pretty well.
Here is my zoo garden in actinics:

Here is a small zoo frag and the original colony next to it. This was the 1st zoa in the tank!

And lastly, a full tank shot:

Has anyone ever seen anything like this? My foxface has pretty much taken up residence in my Xenia!!

Is this normal for him to do so? I would have thought that my pair of false percs would have done so before the foxface.

If I were to get a Hatian / condi anemone , is there a chance that my percs would host it? What types of anemones are false percs more likely to host?

most likely to host a carpet anemone, i tried a LTA and they didnt go for it at all, then i went with a carpet and they started hosting 2 months later.

Great looking tank! you have gone through what I am just getting ready to start....I have a 55g with about 60 lbs of live rock. I have several fish, but I am not satisfied and want some color from some corals. I also have a thread in this section with pics of my tank. Your pictures have helped me with some of the corals I was researching and looking to purchase. Nice tank!
. Keep up the good work.
