I'm sure some of you have seen the news reports of the shootings at Virginia Tech. I'm so sick of hearing about gunmen shooting a bunch of people before they either do themselves in or have cops do it for them. I in no way condone suicide in any form, but if it's between someone taking themselves away from the world or them taking others with them, have the balls to deal with yourself and leave others out of it. This is just so frustrating and disgusting. It makes me so angry.

I read about this before I went to class this morning.
Just a week or so ago, we had 4 stabbings and a shooting here at my school at UAH.

Your right. One's got to question the motives. I can't believe how "weak" some of the individuals in our society have become...
And sometimes, I do condone suicide, because the punishment our justice system would inflict, usually makes me nausous (sp?).

This is going to be a crazy story. 2 shootings by I believe the same gunman 2 hours apart on same campus....Wow.... there's going to be some heads spinning...someone dropped the ball big time if these reports are indeed true because the university failed to protect their students... I bet the only guy in America that is somewhat thankful for a story of this magnitude is Don Imus...I bet that whole incident will now be forgotten for the most part... My prayers go out those students at that campus and their families.

I live in VA and have visited VT many times, my boyfriend went to school there... I just don't understand, no ones life is perfect, everyone has problems but taking your problems out on other people will never make anything better... sorry I am just in a little shock here. I remeber when there was the "DC Sniper" that shot people in my hometown (I actaully drove past one place where they shot someone about 5 mins before) When that was going on I went down to VT and stayed with my boyfriend to be "safe" and now this... is anywhere safe?

hey, if a nun/preist convention can't be peaceful (2 stabbings...) where can it be peaceful?
this is sad though to hear :(

Suicide is the most selfish thing anyone can do. Of course there are special circustances at times, but this is the most cowardly thing you can do

this is a very sad thing, and it happens way too much seems like at least once ayear we hear this same story just at a different school i might be off base here but maybe if parents were allowed to discipline their children like when i was a kid i got spanked in the bible spare the rod spoil the child it's like young people today do not know right from wrong anymore (some do, i am referring to columbine, by the way) i do not know anything on the shooter in this case age, disgruntled or whatever but i think if society quit all the bs and went back to how it was we as a whole would be better off, i am 42 years old the only real bad thing growing up that i had to deal with was viet nam, my dad was there as a civillian with the d.o.d but i think in 1974 there was a bus filled with kids buried in chowchilla ca. that was the only crime on kids i remember now as i got older it has definately increased dramatically there were no amber alerts kids could play football on the streets and parks what has changed we can't spank our kids anymore without fear of the law taking our kids away from us god help us all it is only going to get worse sorry for rambling on tobin

sry, but there's nothing that will help our society. I honestly am scared to see what society is like in 20 years. we're all doomed.

I had a shooting happen at my middle school on my last day of 8th grade year 2000 in Lake Worth Middle School. Barry Gruno(shot) and Nathaniel Brazil(shooter) thing, and you know why he did it? Because the teacher wouldn't allow him to take a girl out of the classroom by gunpoint and shot the teacher instead, leaving his wife widowed, and 2 daughters without a father, scarring nearly 3000 other students 10-13 years of age. He should be getting out soon. :scared:
Why are people so stupid? I mean if you are that depressed then you know how bad it feels to be down there why make others suffer? I know the other day there were police on 1-95 in West Palm trying to get a guy off a bridge that he was threatning to jump off of and end his life(okay it's only 50feet high and all the cars were stopped per my friend in port st lucie waste of police in my opinion). If you want to die do it in the privacy of your own home and without the damaging of other lives in the process. :notsure:
This is why the human race will not last as long as the fish! When we get mad we kill all within shooting/bombing range. Or we hijack planes and kill people in another country so we don't have to see it at home.
What crap, I will be sending good thoughts to the students teachers and families.

I just transferred from VA Tech, half my graduating class went there and everyone from where im from in VA knows atleast a few people that go there .....all of my friends from college are still there and this is the scariest thing I have ever heard of....WTF?!
I mean who is so selfish to take others lives b/c of their problems?
I don't even want to think about what the parents and families are going
through.....
pray for them

these people are called psychopaths, and they have no regard for any human life, usually not even their own. They do this thing without a conscience, and it's a sad thing.

Does anyone know anyone who goes there?

I highly doubt there is a correlation but did you guys know the anniversary of the Columbine HS Shooting is on Friday?
Every parent who has a kid in college was probably on the phone with their son/daughter today. I know mine were!
