IMO the SG is better off at .025-.027. I feel my corals have done better with the higher SG compared to an SG of .023-.024 when i first got them. Good luck w/ the tank!

It's not going to be an easy tank to keep up, the evaporation on this thing is nuts. But so far I am loving it, I get to work on my computer right next to a little saltwater tank!
Oh and I got the Nautalis shell about 3 years ago in Charleston South Carolina!

Lol no I love it, but I wouldnt have a problem picking one up for you this summer when I go back down in June. You would just need to pay for shipping and all that jazz. If i remember right it was like $30 or something. I bet if you googled it you could find it cheaper though.

No problem at all, I will be taking my laptop with me for the week(cant go a day with out my SWF.com!) so I can check out the price on the shell. The store is right on N. Market street so I can pm you the price if you still want it. And to get back to my tank. The kit came with 4.4 gallons of nutri sweat water and once this is used up I want to switch to using my salt that I use with my other tank(Red Sea Coral Pro), is there any negative effects chagning salt/water brands? I dont want to pay for the nutri water stuff, it is stupid expensive.

wrong. it is kind of a big deal switching salt. the calcium and alk and other stuff will have dif levels. Do it very slow! abd check the levels of your water now and the water you will be using.

I was only going to do half gallon water changes a week the new salt anyways. Is that to much of a water change for this size of a tank or does that sound about right? PS I will be picking up my shrimp and goby pair tomorrow so be ready for some pics!

Well got some good and bad news today. Went to my lfs to pick up my goby and pistol shrimp pair today, only coming out not being able to find the goby. They were in the process of cleaning the tanks so the owner thought that he may be hiding in a rock crevice. So I am wating on a phone call to back out when he can catch him. On the good news side the pistol shrimp turned out to be two shrimp. They were in the same hole together so I am thinking maybe a mated pair? I have a pic but it is really horrible, I am acclimating them now and then I will add them to the tank. The shrimp are all grey with black stripes across there bodies, any idea what species?

They both are now sharing the same den agian and I noticed that one of the shrimp has a blue tail while the other doesn't. I'm hoping they may mate now, maybe I could get some baby pistols roaming the tank!
