don't forget to drill a hole some where on your return side plumbing to break the siphon. If not looks like you could drain about half of you tank water into your sumps.
By the way lloks like it going to be a killer setup

She is pretty excited, but not as much as me. We have been looking at a few tangs to see which ones we want to get.

My daughter (3yr old) has made the stand of the 180 that I'm setting up her "house". As of right now there's nothing underneath it, so she just goes in and out with her toys. I'm hoping she'll like it as much once it's done as she does right now..

Here is what happens when you sit around bored reading the reefer boars. I decided to add a remote deep sand band into the system.

They work very well lowering nitrates. Pretty easy to do. You need to use about 5 gal per 75g of water. Just fill bucket with sand aboust 6-7 inches fron the top and put 2 bulkheads (one feeding it, one return) about 3-4 inches from top. You can feed it with a seperate pump or tee it off of something else.

Ok here is my stupid contribution to this post. How do you heat tanks that are that big? The largest heater i have seen which i own is a 300 watt. That barely keeps my 125 at 74 degrees. Do you just use a bunch of them or what? By the way sweet tank!!

Equipment to support a large reef tank can generate a lot of heat so timers are very important and chillers as well. Most always the lighting system is set up with a controller that can shut it off if tank temp. gets too high. They also have the skimmer pump set to turn off if temp. is too high as the pump for that is fairly large. So heating it is not the problem it is keeping it cool that is a challange.

up to 300w heaters are more common, but there are much larger ones also - like 500 and 1000w heaters.

Let there be LIGHT! Hope to have all the lights hanging by the end of the weekend. Should have the UV tomorrow so that I can finish all the plumbing.
