Well GrouperLover you have a great attitude. Most Groupers do need tanks over 300 gallons to thrive ethically. A 240 gallon Shark tank is going to do nothing for you, as its too small to house almost every species of Shark ethically long term. Only Sharks you will be able to house are Coral Cat Sharks or Marbeled Cat Sharks.

I'm a huge fan of marbled and coral cats, but it would be cheaper to build a 300-500g pond, plus you can make the demensions better suited for the shark and/or ray. Some groupers get bigger then sharks, so I'd do a small pond. Just my 2 cents.

just an update on whats going on with the shark...
I had to go out of town the day after it hatched but my wife has been offering it raw shrimp every night when the lights go out and as of yet he has not accepted anything. He was pretty fat looking when he came out of the egg so im thinking he may not even be hungry yet.
I have read it may take up to 2 or 3 weeks before baby sharks will begin to feed , so hopefully soon he will start accepting something.

Shark ponds are still going to cheaper. They tend to cost around 1500$ cheapest, and some tanks that have the right deminsions for sharks cost that much just the tank.
