I NEED GOOD SUGGESTIONS FROM EDUCATED OR EXPERIENCED PEOPLE ON THIS FORUM CAUSE I DONT TRUST MY LFS...
I've had my LFS tell me that a dwarf lionfish can go in a 29 gallon biocube tank, but still i want to ask people on this forum to make sure there not just BS'n me cause they want a sale...
If the lionfish can go in my biocube then what other fish can i have (clowns, cleaner crew)?
If it can't happen then i will take anybodies advice on here and look towards other fish...

Is the blue spot puffer the same as the valentini puffer?
And can 2 pec. clown fish go with it?

Fu Manchu lion fish is one of the smallest lions and would work in a 30g. I looked into it but decided to go with a nano reef and a lion was out of the question. Might want to ask in the predatory fish section though, they seem to know best there. good luck

You would need the tiniest Fu Man Chu you could get for a 30 gallon. I suppose it would be possible, but think of it like this. If you see this large lion in a 30 gallon with hardly any swimming room, then Id use my discretion as to put it in or not.
You would be able to do a frogfish if you wanted, Flricordea has a pair.

Have to agree with paintballer here. Also I second the angler fish, they are awesome and they can get pretty big. Search on utube for some cool videos of them. They don't move too much, but you can keep corals with them
They will pretty much eat any fish that is smaller than them.

Yeah the wartskin frogfish looks freakin awesome

It's crazy how it has a lure on his head.

What other fish can go with that?
CUC?

Frog fish are tight, but man i think you should do a reef tank. they are so neat to look at...IMO Predator tank should be a bigger one, soon i hope to get a 75G one goin

I wouldn't put any other fish that you plan on keeping with it. It will have a high enough bioload on its own in that small of a tank. But you could make it a reef, with the angler. Flricordia has a few of them in his tanks and he has uber expensive corals along with it.

Do a search on this site. Flric's tanks will come up, wait till you see this crazy fish(he has 2 in the same tank) all nestled up with hundreds of rics, it is amazing.

A Fu Manchu doesnt get much larger than 5 inches, it barely moves and hovers or hides over the rockscape. It doesnt need much swimming room at all. 30g is the minimum to keep one of these. Its the volitan lions you cant keep in smaller tanks because they do get large.
I agree a frog or angler fish is also a good choice because they dont move much either. They will sit there all day long waiting for a snack.
The reason people shy from keeping these small predators in a small tank is because they have a large bioload because of the live foods they eat. Research is your best bet!
