Before I bought a tank, I too wanted an anemone and found out PC lights wouldnt cut it. I didnt want a sunpod either (because of an open tank and my cats). This didnt bother me too much when I found I could keep anemone-like corals such as torch and frogspawn under PCs. Look up those two corals because they look a lot like an anemone and that may satisfy you as it did for me.
I like them both! I think I might've seen the torch before, but I thought it was an anemone. I still have a lot to learn before I can tell them apart

I was looking at yours and it's an open tank, down the road I want to get some Firefish and Jawfish, but I've heard that these are jumpers. In this case, what could I do, just put some sort of mesh over the tank?Yup!
What do you guys think of the Nanocustoms 4.36 series upgrade kit? I had it for a while. Nice upgrade. I think I might've seen someone here with it. Would it be enough for sps aswell? Not anything very colorful. Would it be better than a sunpod as for light quality?Definitely not.

Here is my 29 biocube with a pond screen mesh top and the Sunpod.

Awesome! I might do that with the mesh, I don't want any fish attempting to sneak out of the tank lol
What kind of sunpod do you have(model). Is it the HQI 1060 - 20" - 150 watt?(I don't know if I can add a link to the one I'm thinking)
And sorry to bother you, but do you have a picture of the chamber's of your tank from the top? I want to see how you have it setup. I just bought my cheato and I want to make sure to put everything in the right spot

By "bag of purigen and chemi pure elite", do you mean just a plastic bag with holes, like a ziplock? Or something different? The cheato do yo have it inside something or is it just floating around?(you can tell I have no idea

the chemipure elite comes in a bag already. idk if purigen comes in one but if it dont buy one its like 2 bucks here at my lfs i think i might be wrong. his chemipure and purigen is hanging over from chamber one to chamber two so the water fall goes through it. also the chaeto i think is floating around. just make sure you have it with a good amount of light.

I just came back from my lfs, the chemi pure comes in a black bottle so I can't see if there's a bag inside the bottle and the purigen is just the bottle alone, I can see the sand-like without a bag. What kind of bag do I ask for though?.
About the cheato; it won't do anything bad in my DT if any of it happens to go by in it? I'm going to buy a cpr fuge next week, so I know I'll be putting it all in there, but for now I just want to have in there to help out a bit

Thanks for the help Nissan!

chemipure elite or chemipure
Chemi-Pure
* Multi-purpose chemical filter media removes dissolved organics and more
* Enjoy sparkling water and maintain a perfect pH in any aquarium
* Long-lasting chemical filter media reduces aquarium maintenance
Your fish will live a healthier life - up to 4 times longer. Works equally well in marine or freshwater aquariums to remove heavy metals, copper, phenol, ammonia, and other nitrogenous waste. Helps keep pH at a consistently safe range and your water sparkling clear. Fantastic for use with African Cichlids and Discus. Chemi-Pure Elite adds ferric oxide to the original Chemi-Pure formula to also remove phosphates and silicates, making it the only complete choice for filtering any kind of aquarium. Each pre-bagged 5 oz Chemi-Pure or Chemi-Pure Elite treats up to 20 gallons; 10 oz Chemi-Pure or 11.74 oz Chemi-Pure Elite unit treats up to 40 gallons. Each extra large 40 oz Grande or 46.96 Grande Elite nylon bags treat 175-200 gallons. Remains active 4-6 months.
purigen
Seachem Purigen
* Chemical filter media for fresh and saltwater aquariums
* Effectively removes protein and other organic aquarium pollutants
* Regenerate Purigen chemical filter media for extended aquarium use
Premium synthetic adsorbent removes soluble and insoluble aquarium impurities. Purigen is a macro-porous, synthetic polymer that removes proteins and a broad spectrum of organics at a rate and capacity that exceeds all other chemical filter media by over 500%. Controls ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate, by removing nitrogenous organic waste materials. Seachem Purigen also significantly raises redox to improve aquarium water quality and clarity.
Exhaustion is indicated by discoloration, and it can be regenerated easily. For marine and freshwater aquariums. 100 ml treats up to 100 gallons, for up to 6 months.

I have the 20" 150 watt Sunpod. Here is a drawing of the back chambers.

I think the sunpod you have is the one that I mean. I'll be ordering one probably next week or the week after. I want to have everything ready.
The protein skimmer that you have there, is it the oceanic one? Thanks!

to me i wouldnt use a skimmer. as long as you do the proper water changes you are good. some people want it some people do. do some research and you will decided if you want it or not. and the sunpod! get it! get the 20k bulb the light effect is hot

I might buy the skimmer just to be on safe, even though I know I'll be making water changes on a regular basis.
I'm totally getting that sunpod next week!
I'll be going back to my lfs tomorrow to get the chemi-pure, purigen and all that. I swear, people might start thinking that I work there since I've been there everyday just staring at fish and corals
