3 yr old dumps in half a bottle of flake food!!!

My girlfriends son dumped in a half bottle of flake food last night. Did not notice it till this morning when my water looked like milk. I did 70% water change and triple dosed the tank with prime. only time will tell. my two fish are OK as of now. any advise on what to do???

You already did it...BIG water change...

70% is alot, but depending on the size of your tank, a half bottle of flake food can do alot of damage.
Check the param's tonight and do another change if necessary.
...oh yeah, and hide the food.

Hi,
As a grandmother of 12, I also suggest watching the little person very closely. Once the tikes figure out stuff can go into the tank, it won't be just food they toss, but anything else they can find.
I speak from experience... toys, their hotdogs, the baby powder, you name it. Your tank is not safe. So don't let junior in that room alone ever again.
I have a two year old that terrorized me and my tank. He is four now, I love him to death, but I still don't trust him near my fish tank.

Grandmother of 12!!!! GEEZ I though I had a lot...7...LOL
Anyway..exactly what she said....HIDE EVERYTHING!...The rule in my house is no grandkids allowed in my fishroom w/o an adult...although I have fish in more than one room, but my sw fish is the offlimits room. I even have a gate..but the little devils can climb...LOL

I cheated a little, my daughter married a guy with four kids, making 12. The little tank terrorist however is all mine. LOL
