Nice plans Doc. I just have one question, as I have not been a part of a conversation that deals with refugiums that you have responded in. What is the "T" off going from the return pump to the refugium (bubble trap area) doing during normal operation? I was just wondering if both that and the drain from the display were sending water to the refuge the entire time, or if that was just an extra that you could use if needed for some reason. Thanks, I was just wondering what both are for. That plan looks really good though!

How deep should the bed be for the refuge? I will post pics tom of what I have complete. Baffles are in place about 1 in apart. The tank is a 30 gallon 30 in across. The skimmer LR area is 10 in baffles then mag 950 gph pump then refuge. I have about 5 lbs of miracle mud. Should I mix that with live sand as well or is 5 lbs of the mud fine? The refuge is about 10in across as well.
