Yea probably. I think the green is coming from too much light in such a new tank. I've pulled it way back. Also I put in chaetto in my fuge which is creating additional lighting. Thoughts?

I already have a power head point up and don't think it's a lack of water movement. I have almost 3000 gph.
I really just need to slow down....../.. But I hate waiting.

i just got all new test kits..... salifert..
amonia - 0
nitrite - 0
nitrate -5
calcium -450
mag - 1100 its low need to read up on how to increase
ph 8.1
phosphate - .25
temp - 81
salinity - 32
it looks to me that im ready to take it to the next step and my first cycle is complete...
LFS here i come!!!

Moderators? do i have enough lighting for everything?
Im not about to start adding SPS or LPS yet because i know my tank is too young but want to be sure I have enough lighting for them as well as clams, and 1 anemone.
as stated above i have the following lighting:
2- Kessil 150w 15k
2-24w T5 HO
I was thinking over the summer getting another Kessil 150w (10k or 20k) havent decided yet

Its about 18" ....about 22" from the lights to the sand bed. will i have to keep them high up though?

i prob will get a third just because i like to limit the amount of "shadow" the lights create... even though i love the lights which give off a ton of light..

Those things are recommended to be mounted a lot higher than that.....That might help with your shadowing issue as well......

i just went on thier website and couldn't find the recommendation... what do you think... 8-10 inches?

I was just browsing their site, and I don't see real specifics on the aquarium deal, but I'm pretty sure I read between 10"-18".....5" IMHO is definitely to close though......

the placement of the lighting wont really depend on wheather i can keep SPS, clams and anemone, right?

thanks... i will see what i can do without having to get rid of hte T5... if i raise the LEDS too high you can see it hits the T5 fixture
