Your tank needs to cycle before you put anything in it, you know this right?
Once it is cycled start with 5 or so snails and hermits. Leave them for a week or two, then add more. SLOWLY stock the tank or it will crash.

also certain types of brittle stars can and will probably catch any small fish you have in your tank. Had this experience first hand.

I think you might confusing Brittle Stars with Green Serpent Stars. I've never heard of a brittle star eating a fish, serpent stars, now that's a possibility.

Aren't brittle stars "stupid" at getting their food? Thought I read somewhere that they aren't very good foragers, but just kind of stumble accross their food, rather than searching it out.

IDK...I have a brittle in my 29G...as soon as the food hits the water, the legs start coming out. It's kinda neat to watch.....it's like the legs are velcro...the food just sticks to them, and then the food gets pushed to the mouth...LOL...like an escalator

There is this starfish that eats algae. Small little guys, split like crazy. Some don't like them, I love them. My population right now has got to be upwards of 50. Of course, my master plan is to keep a sustainable population of starfish, so as to be able to keep harlequin shrimp. But they do eat algae (not much though).

I think your list looks pretty good to start. I love my shrimp/goby combo, although I don't think I'd put them in my main tank. I have them separate in my 14G. I've read people having issues with their pistol shrimp once they reach full size.
I highly recommend adding a cleaner shrimp to your CUC.
If you're considering a Firefish, make sure you have a top.
As for your CUC, here's what I would do:
5-10 Astrea Snails
5-10 Cerith Snails
5-10 Nassarius Snails
5-10 Trochus Snails
5-10 SMALL hermit crabs (Mexican Reef Hermits)
1-2 Cleaner shrimp (I would do Skunk Cleaner Shrimp)
**Brittle Starfish usually come as hitchhikers in the LR, I've never ever paid for one and have about 12 in my 155G.
2-3 Emerald Crabs

I have 2 black brittle starfish. They are brittles as they are covered in spines. I've seen fish in their tank disappear and come up half eaten. I know its the stars because every tank I put one of them in. Eventually one fish will disappear where the day before the same fish was perfectly fine and eating very well.
In fact I did have a dwarf lion and I actually saw the star grab him while he was perched.

Crazy! Would like to see if anyone else is experiencing this behavior.

alright sweet, and so far i do have a top, until i can upgrade my lights to the T5's im wanting.... but thats going to be a while before i can do that, only make $7 an hour and have only worked twice in the past two weeks lol. and i really appreciate the help with the CUC, and is there another shrimp that would be willing to pair up with a goby? i think the pairs of things is rather cool, and think it would be fun to watch lol.
I should also mention this is my Senior Project for High School, so this is basically my second semester final examine lol. so i want to make sure everything is perfect, or atleast as close to it as i can lol.

Oh and an important thing. Powerheads.. those things make a saltwater tank the best it can be since water movement seems critical even for the fish. They LOVE it and it helps keep your bottom clean of any dusty debris. Just FYI try Koralia those seem to be the best around for the buck and will be pretty important to your corals since some filter feed a bit and love the feel of water movement over themselves.
also my brittle's actually come out and chase down their food. They are Extremely fast and have sticky arms, they have even tried grabbing me several times.
as for goby and shrimp pairs. I believe pistol shrimp and watchmans can pair up.

heres the things i bought today and put in my tank
15lbs. Live rock (should of waited and got it offline...would of been cheaper.)
20lbs. Live Sand
maxi jet powerhead, idk much about it though, it was like, $40 and i knew i needed one just to help it out.
and i also bought some instant ocean salt mix.
Ended up totalling $240.... which was sad lol, because i could of bought the
T5 lights for that. BUT, im glad to just have it up and cycling, also bought another heater, but i already had a 200w one so im going to try and return it lol.
