what type of sand did you use? if its really fine and your water current is high, it might easily keep it cloudy and stirred up forever.

You can use your hand...lol...or use a spatula....
I have a scraper, but my tank is REALLY deep so I have problems reaching the bottom even with the long handle....
AND this is the best time to mess with your aquascape.....

only thing worrying me is if i get a fish that likes to burrow then my rock will probably smash it, since half of my rock isnt on the glass, since i've added it twice. but i like the spatula idea, that would work rather well i bet :D thanks!

You can still move the rock.....just move the sand, place the rock near the glass, and fill back with the sand

If you could get yourself a small canister filter or sump. Move the heater into the sump or an inline heater on the canister. That would add to your aqua-scape room and move things out of your way.
As for the spatula just make sure its plastic

well, i am extremly pleased with my aquascape now, im going to get some pics when the water clears up a little more from the sand storm i made. but i have some burrows in there that go under some of the rocks, im going to test and make sure it wont fall tomorrow, and i also have a nice sized cave on the right hand side. but thats just whats going on with the tank currently figured id give and update.
Also, with the spatula, it was plastic
the metal one had slits in it and would end up rusting, so i decided against it haha, almost grabbed it though since the handle was plastic haha

I doubt the spatula would rust from being in the water for 5 minutes...LOL...My scraper is metal....Stainless I think

the new aquascape as promised two burrows on the left, and the powerhead is pointing to the cave basically lol, you can see the hole, and it goes in a little to the left on the inside of it.

id love to paint the back black, but my mom wont allow that for some reason, so i'll either get a plastic black background, or a few layers of blackout curtains and turn them into a background. im thinking more along the lines of the blackout curtains, since if a spill happens in the back, they will absorb it for the most part, and i could always wash it.

You can just get some black felt also from a craft or fabric store. I am using some in my stand to black out the light from the refugium. Works really well...

ok well i have a few questions, well, mainly two for right now.
1) i have brown spots showing up all over my rocks lol, is this good or bad, and what could it possibly be?
2) i have white stringy stuff on some of the rocks aswell, again, good bad and what is it :p
I pmed BLTDreef asking what it was, but idk if i can pm pics or not, so i decided to post em on here and also ask everyone else what they thought

In the fisrt pic the white stringy thing is kinda going over the center hole (the largest one) and you can just barely see it...but its the best shot i got for it lol.
