4-96 watt powercompacts

I WOULD SAY YES YOU USUALLY NEED 4-5 WATTS PER GALLON AND YOU WOULD HAVE 6.98W. ALTHOUGH CLAMS AND SOME OTHER CORALS NEED A GREATER SPECTRUM OF LIGHT SO METAL HALIDES ARE USED.

Over a standard 55? Probibly all but the most light hungy SPS and Clams.

I ran 4*96 watt over my 58 when I had it and it could support many acros assuming they were placed moderately high in the tank. They may brown a little bit depending on how light demanding the particular SPS is but many such as montiporta digitatas do fine and had decent growth.

I agree, 1 mh and 2 pc's will yield much better results in the long run. You'll get by with just the pc's, but you'll just that...Just get by.
