Well, since 5000 grand is not really enough for any new toys that I would want, I would buy some building material and add another greenhouse off of my house.

IF it were for a fish tank, I could piece together a killer 200-300 FOWLR tank between the stuff I have laying around in the garage, and a few new toys...

I posed the question and never answered... whoops!
Id spend it all on a mcpherson guitar. The most amazing acoustic guitar ever built. When I first started playing guitar, I told my brother YearOfTheNick that Id never spend more than $500 on a guitar.... 7 guitars and $4k later I realized that its worth it. kind of like when I got into SWF I figured I didnt want to spend more than $400 on my nano system. but its been 2 years and going on a total bill of $2000+

well, I'm not sure what you're smoking but a Martin N-20 specifically the one that willie plays is the best sounding guitar. Plus it doesn't look funny...
(I'm only playing)

I would use every penny to fix up and upgrade what I could on my old RV... Course, that's only if the hubby doesn't know I have it... If he does, then I already know what would happen... It'd go in the bank, we'd say were gonna save it, then buy what ever we wanted whenever we wanted at the moment. The money would dwindle away and at the end of it all we'd wonder what we have to show for it...
Been through THAT every year at tax returns... We get more than 5k, but the same would happen...

I played a mcpherson 4 years ago, and I still remember it. It sounded so amazing, it made music that I had only heard in my dreams.

I think $5000 might just *barely* cover a 3-day cruise with an added day of guided flyfishing for bonefish.

LOL...I'd take a 3 hour cruise right now.....except with my luck I'd end up on a deserted island

I drove a Jeep for a while, but decided that gas was too expensive (at 1.50 a gallon) and bought a 90 hatch SI. 35 mph, plus it was a great rally car... Now I'm having to drive about 60 miles for a commute(but I have a new honda). And well, a 100 a month worth of gas sure is better than 300 which is what it would be paying if I was driving what I wanted. And with my line of work, there is no justification for owning a beast of a vehicle, it would be a luxury good. But don't worry picking up a mid 70's to early 80's 3/4 ton like a C20 is in the one year plan... I can justify that for a beach car, and to haul around furniture and stuff. Just as soon as I'm out of debt. Hopefully by christmas...

I hear you, my big truck is not my daily driver, wish it was though. We mainly cruise it on the weekends to go do fun stuff or use it to take camping.

I've made it a point for my life to only buy toys cash. It really sucks right now, because I have all of Padre Island I could drive down if I had a truck. But when I was living in houston, and that driving, a car is really the practical way to go after all for the most part I work in an office. Now when I was working on a farm that was a different story...
