goby and pistol shrimp would be ok but most won't recomend it because of the work involved in it. constantly topping off water and water changes, i would just buy a ten gallon tank. as for light halide is the best, not sure about flouresent if you can get them in a small size. figure at least 5 watts per gallon this way you will have enough light down at the substrate for a clam or something.

ok i found some lights and they are 50/50 and actinic 10 watt in the same bulb and if i bought 2 of those and put in on a 10 gallon would that be enough light for a 10 gallon?? and could i have goby, pistol shrimp, and damsal or something just another small fish like maybe a royal gramma or something??

i've got a 5 gal, so far just the lights it came with :scared: and yes, it takes a freshwater top off every day, i do it anytime the water level gets low, so on some days that's several times a day, otherwise the salinity will go thru the roof!
all i have in there is the false perc, a brittle star, and 3 hermit crabs.
