In order to cycle it, you just got some uncured live rock and add it to the tank. This will start your cycle. If you really want to kick start it, throw a raw cocktail shrimp into the tank also, and let that begin to decay. Basically, anything that will break down and form ammonia will begin your cycle.
Fish I would be looking at are: clownfish, firefish, gobies, blennies, anthias (must be in a school of at least 3), basslets, grammas, dwarf angelfish (only one to a tank), dwarf lionfish (only if you do not have shrimp or tiny fish), hawkfish, and fairy wrasses. They are some beautiful fish in the types of fish listed. I am sure you will be able to get a very healthy and beautiful aquarium if you stick to those 11 types of fish.

The tank is not a good environment for tangs, which are fast, open water swimmers that need a lot of lateral room. You've been given some good lists to choose from. Stick with smaller fish and you'll have a much nicer set-up. I'm thinking you're waiting for one person to validate your question. That's the thing about the internet; wait around long enough and someone will come along who will tell you what you want to hear. You've been given good advice here. Please listen to it.

i dont want to hop on the no tang bandwagon, but everyone is right. there are many types fish that cling to the reef structure and dont venture out into open water, tangs are not one of them. if you want something that will catch people's attention go with a small school of green or blue chromis, or a dwarf angel. there are plenty of attractive fish that are better suited for this setup.

the foxface is also going to get way too big for the tank. A flame angel is a fairly large fish that should work well in that tank. A pair of clownfish are also always fun to watch.

I have the same kind of corner tank as you, but it is a 92g. I added a blue hippo tank when it was maybe 2". I kept it for maybe 6 months before I relized he need a bigger tank already and he was only 4" by then. Again this was a 92 corner and felt a 4" tang was not happy in there. Oh and by the way, what a PITA to catch him

I would seriously check out the angels everyone here is suggesting. There are also some clown's that can get fairly large (like clarkii clowns) and are fairly active. Check out your options if you're sticking to this tank, if you are upgrading to a bigger tank first then ask about bigger fish ;)
You're doing the right thing by researching, good luck!

In a word, no. Not for any period of time. That is an unforgiving tank design.
Sometimes we must learn to give up what we REALLY want because it is in the best interest of the animals we are trying to care for.

oh man...i just got home from school...i guess we can go with smaller fish and just get alot of pretty corals! and were getting a sump too so well have pods...im gonna get a twinspot or mandarin..
btw...what is the coolest and BIGGEST fish you think i can have in my aquarium?
