- Ohh, ok. Lol. Yes, we used the overflow box from the filter we got rid of. Here's a picture...sorry it's vertical, lol...it was the only way I could take the picture.
HA i just looked at the picture and was thinking how in the hell did he plumb the tank horizontaly? lol i was sooooo confused for a sec
and no it wont harm fish BUT it will release phosphate into the water which will raise Po4 and could harm the corals if it gets to bad levels. all i use over my fuge is a "23 watt CFL bulb". It is a sprial energy saving bulb that is = to a 60 watt i believe... you can go higher if you want more growth out of the GC tho...

WOW that pic is kinda psychedelic bro
! But thanx. The part of the overflow that is hanging over the back... is it being used for anything? Or is it just part of the bak-pac, filter, whatever?

grape capulera is a very tricky algae... sometimes like enjoys going sexual for no reason at all.... so if you water clouds up one day it could be the GC releasing its spores...
other than that the GC is great for removing nitrates and phosphates!! Make sure you have plenty of strong light on it and prune it every other week
I put some GC in my DT b4 I knew better and it was one of the biggest mistakes!!!!
It was always stuck in something, powerhead etc...I still find pieces of it undreneath a rock every now and again

Jas1 - You put it in the DT or the Refugium? Ohh and the thing that hangs over the back isn't really used for anything but to get the water into the sump/refugium.

In my DT and it was a mess. I would put some in a fuge if I had one it does wonders like mix said

Jas1 - Ohh ok I was a little confused...Yeah so far the Refugium/Sump is doing awesome! Nitrates & Nitrites have always been at 0 since I set it up.

O I C... The pvc connects to the overflow box outside of the tank
pretty cool
! So how does the return side stay in place?

Jas1 - What do you mean how does it stay in place? well the edge of the tank holds the pvc in place. It's just pvc that runs up? Sorry if I didn't answer that one very well, lol.
