58 Gallon Reef Build

So after my 180 gallon Jebo tank leaking disaster I'm starting a new tank. This is going to be my first reef tank, but I want to set everything up to where I can go SPS without having to get alot of new equiptment. Originally I had planned on a 30ish gallon tank, but after finding the right tank at the right price I purchased a used 58 gallon rr oceanic tank. I purchased a lifereef LF1 sump and VS2-24 skimmer. I'd ordered one skimmer but it broke while shipping. (used) So I ordered another one which hopefully will here soon. I'm going to run 3 modded 6025 tunze powerheads. For a return pump I'm torn between an old Iwaki MD55 or just using a Mag 9.5. Either way I'm probably going to have to T it back into the sump. I'm not sure the overflow rate of the stock oceanic overflow but I don't think it is over 900 gph. Here are some pics more to come soon. Right now I'm in the process of filling the tank with RO-DI water.

Looken good! What are you going to do with the 180 and the things in it?

Sold them to get money for this. I got married in May so I didn't have the extra funds to go and buy a replacement tank. Hence I have to do the nano reef.

I'm going to start out with some simple stuff then put in some sps once the tank matures and stabilizes.
As for fish I still have a flame and coral beauty, that was in my fowlr that I'm going to move into that tank. I want to have several shrimp in the tank, (I know nothing about them) I love the look of harliequin shrimp. Would love to have a pair of them. I also I want to hook up a small tank for the propagation of snails. And use it as a fuge. I'm going to get some unique clowns like nekked clownfish, or picasos, something you just don't see every day. Maybe a purple firefish, and some pink anthas (maybe). And some bangai cardinals. I want to keep it very peaceful (hopefully the clowns aren't to aggressive)

In the process of filling it up with RO/DI water I took half liverock out of my temporary tank and put it in the new tank.

However once I did that, the old tank was no longer stable. That and the dang skimmer pump didn't want to run for more than five minutes. So I tested the water in the new tank, and since everything I put in the tank was already cycled anyway, I didn't have a cycle. Then after testing the water in the temp tank. And saw that ammonia I decided it was time to move over the fish, my old tank wasn't going to be stable for long. So I pulled the rest of the lr out of my old tank. While I was moving hte fish over.

My skimmer is still being finicky.

Can you see the tunze powerhead? They are soo small it is awesome!
I am still missing the lights, but fish don't need lights. And am also waiting on 2 more powerheads. But I'm starting to think now that is over kill.

Does anyone have any good ideas for setting up a fuge in this space? To the left of the sump? the total space between the sump and the wall is 10 inches.

I also modded a tunze 6025. Here are some pictures.

sorry, cant really help you one the fuge, but i do know that a canopy on a 58 gallons does wonders on how it looks. i know from experience. ;)

got the lights, right before I left for the weekend. Totally sucks. Have to wait till sunday to set it up.
i'm thinking about taking the skimmer external. And setting up the first section of the sump as a fuge...
